  • Arcane Armor clarification
  • How does the Armorer artificer's Arcane Armor feature interact with heavy armor?
  • The Armorer subclass of the Artificer has this cool ability relating to armor:

Suggest removing the parenthetical additional questions as irrelevant.

Arcane Armor clarification
The Armorer subclass of the Artificer has this cool ability relating to armor:

> Beginning at 3rd level, your metallurgical pursuits have led to you making armor a conduit for your magic. As an action, you can turn a suit of armor you are wearing into Arcane Armor, provided you have smith's tools in hand.
>
> You gain the following benefits while wearing this armor:
>
> **If the armor normally has a Strength requirement, the arcane armor lacks
> this requirement for you.** ...

Now this is, for the most part, only useful to don heavy armor, such as plate armor. However, I noticed that the Artificer doesn't actually have proficiency in heavy armor - did I miss something? Is the proficiency implied or is not having this proficiency intentional?

(As an optional followup - if not having it is intentional, what is the easiest/most efficient way for an Artificer to gain proficiency in heavy armor?)
