Skill checks in Call of Cthulhu use a "roll under" system, where you want to roll below the number of the skill. CoC uses a d100 to make the checks. If you have a number for your skill, such as 40, you want to get a result that is underneath 40 on your d100 for a regular success.

I'm doing milestone leveling already, as well as ignoring most ammunition and carrying capacity. (I'm awarding them a Bag of Holding very soon and one character has an infinite quiver.) One character has a limited number of javelin I prefer to keep count of. (more) |

Yes, but it's very easy for someone to shake the table and knock a die over. We'd also need a clear way to indicate what counter-die would be for what spell level, or the paladin's Lay on Hands feature, and similar. (more) |
