Comment Post #290144 Ah, got it, thanks. Might be helpful information to have in the question for people unfamiliar with the system like me.

Comment Post #290144 Sorry, I'm still kind of confused how this system works. From your example: why is rolling a 5 against a 40 an extreme success? What di(c)e are you rolling?

Answer A: How does the Spell Sniper feat work with the sorcerer's Distant Spell?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cast at 60 feet: the way I see it, you use one sorcery point to to modify the spell to have a range of 30 feet, and then you are casting this modified spell, which has its range doubled by spell sniper. When you cast the spell it already has a range of 30 feet....

Answer A: How do I ensure that character death is impactful at higher levels?
Make the resources required rare Resurrection doesn't cost 1,000gp - it requires a diamond worth at least 1,000 gp. That's really valuable, especially for a commoner, so you probably wouldn't find many of these lying around town. Even people who sell diamonds might be unlikely to have such a valua...

Comment Post #284312 As my answer stated, a literal interpretation is typically *not* the way to go, especially when dealing with targets... for example, this is invalidated by some lines further down in the Catapult description that were quoted in the question: "On a failed save, the object strikes the **target** and st...

Question How does the Armorer artificer's Arcane Armor feature interact with heavy armor?
The Armorer subclass of the Artificer has this cool Arcane Armor feature: > Beginning at 3rd level, your metallurgical pursuits have led to you making armor a conduit for your magic. As an action, you can turn a suit of armor you are wearing into Arcane Armor, provided you have smith's tools in ha...

Answer A: How to determine the target(s) of Catapult?
It seems to be up to interpretation I could not find any clear interpretation of the definition of target. The definition you quoted, > A typical spell requires you to pick one or more targets to be affected by the spell's magic. A spell's description tells you whether the spell targets creat...

Question Should we allow questions about social deduction games on RPG Codidact?
We recently received a question about The Resistance, which is a social deduction game similar to Mafia. From the most upvoted answer defining the scope of this community, > The idea would be to include all games that are "role-playing" in style, with the main criterion that it be human-med...

Answer A: What kinds of encounters besides for combat can I include in a game?
Puzzles! The players stumble into a cave, and are greeted with… some sort of gatekeeper? (…that’s way too powerful for them to fight.) Or maybe nothing at all except some confusing symbols etched into the ground. Either way, the way forward is blocked and the players must figure out how to proceed...
